Drawing on the company's market-leading technical expertise and developed following extensive customer research into the most commonly used and requested software formats, its BIM offering uses both Revit and IFC building design software.
Initially available on the Deckline 125 galvanised steel and Modular 125 stainless steel drainage systems, the ACO Building Drainage BIM offering will be rolled out across its entire product portfolio - including FreeDeck, gully and pipe products - by the end of 2014.
Andy Buchan, Divisional Managing Director of ACO Building Drainage, said: "As one of the world's leading commercial drainage specialists, we have always prided ourselves on providing customers with the very best technical advice and information.
"With the Government's 2016 deadline for the implementation of collaborative 3D BIM on public sector projects approaching and the use of BIM growing in our sector, we felt it was essential to invest in the creation of the 3D BIM files that our customers will require for project modelling, specification and information management purposes. Our own in-house design team will also be on hand to answer customer queries with regard to BIM."
ACO Building Drainage's sister company - ACO Water Management - has also launched its BIM offering today making it the first surface water management manufacturer to launch a BIM offering targeting civils and infrastructure projects.
